Here's a tricky one roger. Whenever i drive on-boost for any sustained period of time i end up blowing off the boost sensor vacuum hose. How the hell do i stop this from happening? The engine starts coughing and spluttering, blowing sh!tloads of black smoke and with the cost of petrol these days it's bad. Any ideas....

NOPE, there aint nothing tricky for the CordiaKing, i know all

This is a easy occurance occuring when the vacume line is old and flared up. I know for sure that its the vacume hose at the back of the throttlebody, so basically this is what i want you to do.

Cut 1cm or 1.5cm of the hose that fits over the nipple at the back of the throttlebody.

This way the diameter inside is very tight and not old and expanded as the section that was originally over the nipple.

if the boost sensor hose is disconnected, which when u look at it, the nipple is exposed and is literally a atmo leak, this is why your blowing black smoke etc.

Is there any harder problems you need taken care of, cos this was a blink of a eye in solving for me.

PS > If this response is not to your satisfaction, i suggest you use the template as mentioned, if its a bigger problem the tem, plate will give me a butter statistic of your cordia. But im sure what i covered here is enough.

Since your brave enought to come to me and write in this thread, ill be answering it no questions asked, thats why i made this thread.

Do what the king says and youll have no dramas.

Well you were sort of right. No mate they are new hoses, turbosmartypants ones. It's not the back of the throttlebody but the boost map sensor that sits on the firewall. You know the stuff you get rid of when going to multipoint. There is a solenoid here that has a hose attached to it from the throttlebody. The hose blew off the solenoid not the throttle body. It also blew off the tiny hose that connects to the back of the air flow meter.

But don't worry about it roger. Cable ties was the answer i was after. Never mind.

Im very aware of those solenoids, but the things is never heard of hoses comming off from the location you described, normally when the vacume hoses blow off under boost its always the ones on the throttlebody.

There is 1 way to eliminate those hoses blowing off which you mentioned one already.

1. Cutting ther old end of the hose

The first option is generally the first thying to do cos if the ends are still expanded due to old age, they may come off again or perish completely with the extra clamping of the cable ties.

PS: I have in the past heard that silicone type vacume hoses tends to be looser than normal, or in other words, not as grippy.

Yes i have to admit it was strange that hose blowing off. I was having a linear disagreement with a hardon driver. I have cable ties everywhere else so it just found the weak point. Cable ties all round now though.

Boost clamps are the go imho. They will hold 30psi+ boost on a truck when in good condition. You might have trouble finding some to suit a small and theirfore insignificant cordia
