The mitsubishi mirage in question is my sisters car, i wasnt doing much on the day so i thought id give it a go down the quater mile. The purpose of going was not focused on 1/4 mile time but mainly reaction times, cos as i did in the past i won a few bucks as i mentioned ion my other therad.

To get the car ready, i removed the spare tyre and any other removable plastics such as the parcel try etc. I also removed the hub caps cos thats not allowed in drag racing. I checked all fluids at home etc, pumped up the tyres, washed the car etc.

I removed the air filter cos when its removed the inductionj sound is very loud, similar to like a vtech under full noise, that drone sound, so yeah all it had was just the rubber hosing to the air filter housing, maybe thise free flowing air will imporve power in some ways, cos there is no exhuast system.

It was pretty straight forward, i payed the enytry fee of $50, filled out the form, than i walked to the shed to get my details given and the yellow arm band etc, Once that was sorted, i had to drive the car to the scrutineering shed to get it scruitennered etc, they gave me a number and lane number, thats it.

The car i raced twice was a rexi as seen in the pics, the driver never dragged before, he said it was his first time, he said that he wanted to do thise 1st time racing cos he is gonna get the engine fully built up to the max and basically wanted a BASELINE figure of the cars performance.

People said rexis are so quicke etc, but if you loook at the slips all he could do as a novice racer was 14 second performance etc, its reality.

When it came to racing time, i didnt do a burn out, i just drove around the water section, cos for this car it wasnt needed, like im not gonna do a fully smopking burnout with a mirage, plus its my suisters car and i dont want to break drive shafts or whatever, cos im not familiar with the componats in question.

When i revved the engine it was very loud, like a fully loud Vtech. Its just so cure and funny how it managed to do like 125kms/h past the finish line.

Don't want to get your rims dirty, eh? Bloody pointless if your not wearing slicks or semi slicks. The heat won't stay in em.
